Healthcare Academy
On November 14, 2008, Gonzales Healthcare Systems hosted a day long Health Academy for jr. High 7 th and 78 th graders. Dr. Meredith spoke to the students about becoming a doctor, Rene Griffin spoke to them about different duties of nursing including a mock code and assisting with deliveries. Charles Harvey demonstrated the radiology machines, and Mary Jane Williamson gave a tour of our lab. Steve Pottet gave a presentation on Physical Therapy. This Health Academy was sponsored by Pecan Valley AHEC, Victoria College, and the University of Houston.
