She works diligently to maintain its outstanding reputation and offer the best in care and services to all patients. As a leader who has been in her profession 52 years, worked for 33 years as a director and staff nurse and then retired, relocated and returned to work at the hospital where she has been in her profession for nine years. She attributes her success to her motivation and ability and love of helping others. In addition to Ms. McLish’s professional accomplishments, she also has an impressive academic background. She received her nursing diploma from Jefferson Davis Hospital, Houston in 1952. Surgical training was done at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. She obtained her BSN from the University of Houston in 1954. Esther is affiliated with numerous organizations including the Association of Operating Room Nurses. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, cooking, and baking.
