Gonzales Healthcare Systems Plans for New Wellness Center

The James C. Price Wellness Center was established by Gonzales Healthcare Systems in 2000. Named in honor of Dr. James C. Price, who practiced medicine in our community for over 50 years, the wellness center has provided area residents the opportunity to exercise safely within a supervised environment for the past six (6) years.

Currently James C. Price Wellness Center is located adjacent to Memorial Hospital at 1102 Sarah Dewitt. However, plans are now underway to build a new wellness center directly behind the existing location. Chuck Norris, CEO of Gonzales Healthcare Systems, states “We are ready to take the necessary steps in establishing a more comprehensive wellness program to better serve our community. Our proposed plan includes a more elaborate variety of exercise equipment and classes, a daycare, space for physical therapy services, and an indoor pool and spa. Our goal is quite simply to provide our community with the resources they need to achieve a better quality of life through physical fitness.”

The 1st Annual Wellness Center Gala, hosted by Friends of Gonzales Healthcare Systems, will be held April 28, 2007. All proceeds from the event will go to the construction of the new wellness center. “The gala will be held in Hochheim, TX at the beautiful ranch residence of David and Diana Burrow. There will be dinner and dancing as well as live and silent auctions. We are fortunate to have had an overwhelmingly positive response to this project so far and we are looking forward to a very successful event”, states Lisa Gindler, spokesperson for Friends of Gonzales Healthcare Systems.
